First got a copy from my freshman year RA. Didn’t touch it for a year. Downloaded it to my e-reader while in the Hong Kong airport; a few flights later, en route to Sapporo, I was a few hundred pages in when I noticed the person next to me was reading yellowface. She said “I have some qualms about the optics of reading a book called ‘Yellowface’ while in Asia” to which I replied “I’m reading a book about a samurai while in Japan” and she laughed and said “things have a way of working out that way”
